20TH ANNIVERSARY WEEK

My omelet is simmering. Raw asparagus potatoes, some finely chopped onions, eggs and a few tablespoons of creme fraiche. A quick dinner idea composed by two people, one of whom had a fairly empty fridge (me), who couldn't stop talking to each other on the phone. So the dinners were individually prepared while the most important things in life were dealt with in seconds, minutes, hours. Food is happiness for me. Conversations about food. The meal planning. Shopping for the weekend.
The happiness that I thought was forever buried for me, literally came back with the food.

A tray of macadamia nuts is in the oven. They should be roasted in chilli oil and sea salt. It may become my snacks for the week when there is not enough time for anything else. Those and much, much more were purchased this weekend when I was admitted and happily herded into Malmö's largest alternative food store, Luco Foods.

What a week. I have had time with the production on site in Italy and at the same time had time to spin several laps at the warehouse and at Reunion Farm before the weekend landed softly and lovingly for all my senses.

Italy offered weather chaos and also some other spicy chaos. It is now the importance of working with faithful, talented, serious producers that shows itself. Together, we always find ways to avoid difficulties that Italy can present at any time. Together we are strong and resourceful. Among other things, there will be a dress that will become the symbol of our 20th anniversary.  It was shipped on two wheels from the factory last Friday so we have time to get it home for our 20th anniversary on Friday at Reunion Farm. Along with a lot of other news, of course.

The week that begins starts the season again! We open full time again on 15/3. Until then, we will have time to hold a fashion show at Hotel Duxiana in Malmö today (8/3) and then start our 20th anniversary with a hot AFTER WORK and fashion show at Reuniongården on Friday 10/3. Have you signed up? There are a few places left! Mail to info@reunionhome.se and enter your full name. We will then enter you on the guest list in the entrance. We will serve some good drinks with alcohol and then we must have order according to the alcohol law. So you can't just show up on Friday. Pre-registration is mandatory.

Today me and the dogs woke up to a snowstorm. Our large warm bed offered a cozy morning. Even though all the doggies needed to pee, none of them wanted to get up. We haven't seen each other in a week and there's a lot of catching up to do. Last night I woke up to Malte lying pressed on one side of me and Zoe on the other. Together they made sure I stayed there in the nice blankets. My heart gets so soft just thinking that these two dog hearts have missed me as much as I have missed them.

We got up in the end and after a look out through the snow-covered windows we quickly realized that we wouldn't go out and drive on this particular day if we didn't have to. It's sometimes a bit lucky that the powers of the weather are so dramatic because I have lots of administration and writing jobs that require me to sit on my butt all day. But… you know… not so fun. Although today there will be no more running than the long run along the stream with the dogs.

So I've been working on our new menu in the cafe, bought some fun machines for yummy lunches and coffees and now I'm looking for a soft ice cream machine! My dream will come true. Your own soft ice cream machine!

I've had a few cautious requests if we're not going to have rolls this weekend too... well, we can have that. The weather anxiety must be cured - and mmhmmm... you do that with the MARIA buns, of course! Semlor also Saturday and Sunday. Then tutti frutti end. There will be other fun. Loooove.

The news is rolling in at Reunion Farm all the time, it's busy days in production... I've also found a small group of flowery handbags... I mean - it's clear that spring comes faster when we're walking around with flowery handbags.

The weather doesn't stop us from buying loads of spring flowers and putting out our juicy orange garden furniture, replacing the flags, fixing the blown down sign and raking the gravel paths. SPRING is on its way and we are with it! Of course it spreads in the legs and crawls in the hands that want to go down into the earth!!
